FORGIVENESS

The strongest inducement for a Christian to obey the divine law is the fact that he has been graciously pardoned for having broken it. ---- Ernest F. Kevan
David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD." And Nathan said to David, "The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die." (II Samuel 12:13).
"Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool" (Isaiah 1:18).
Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin" (Romans 47-8).

A hymn to read, sing, hum, or whistle, to the glory of God: Come, Ye Sinners, Poor and Wretched (Joseph Hart, 1759.

ILLUMINATION

Unless God's Word illumine the way, the whole life of men is wrapped in darkness and mist, so that they cannot but miserably stray. ---- John Calvin

But the LORD's portion is His people, Jacob His allotted heritage. He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of the wilderness; He encircled him, He cared for Him, He kept him as the apple of His eye....the LORD alone guided him, no foreign god was with him(Deuteronomy 32: 10, 12.)

For You are my lamp, O LORD: and You, the LORD will lighten my darkness (II Samuel 22:39).

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you shall go; I will guide you with my eye (Psalm 32:8).
