HEAVEN

Heaven is not a conditional reward, but a consummated relationship. ---- John Blanchard

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself with be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away (Revelation 21:1-4).

GLORY

And this strikes me....that we as Christians are the only ones who partake in true worship of the Creator. We praise Him and worship Him for His steadfast love, His new mercies in the morning, His Son Jesus. Oh, the Love of God, so rich and pure! ---- Joshua Gielow, truthxchange.
And he said with a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water." (Revelation 14:7).
Sovereign Lord ... you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them. Acts 4:24.

Revelation

The doctrines of revelation are coals of heavenly fire on the altar of the religious heart. ---- Alexander Whyte

Is not my word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? (Jeremiah 23:29).

The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired ae they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb (Psalm 19:7-10).

Name

To "know the name of the LORD" is to lay aside every false opinion and to know Him from His Word, which is His true image, and next from His works. We must not imagine God from the fancy of man, but must comprehend Him as He declares Himself to be. ---- John Calvin

Therefore my people will know my name; therefore in that day they will know that it is I who foretold it. Yes, it is I. How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news...who say to Zion, "your God reigns!" (Isaiah 52:6-7).

"Isaiah envisages a day when faith will pass into sight and the Victor Himself will be seen face to face" (Alec Motyer).

....then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part, then I shall know even as I am fully known (I Corinthians 13:12).

No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and His servants will see Him. They will see His face, and HIs name will be on their foreheads(Revelation 22:3-4).

 "The God of Abraham praise, who reigns enthroned above, Ancient of everlasting days and God of love. Jehovah! Great I AM! by earth and heaven confessed; I bow and bless the sacred name, for ever blest." Thomas Olivers, 1770

Communion with God

As the children of Israel's ultimate goal was not the land,  but communion with God in the land, so the Christian's ultimate goal is not heaven, but communion with heaven's God. ---- pgs
After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: "Fear not, Abram, I am your shield, your very great reward... I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant...to be God to you, and the God of your seed after you. I am the LORD who brought you out from Ur...to give you this land to possess (Genesis 15:1, 7).
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth...And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God...and I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God (Revelation 21:1-3).

--- "O sweet and blessed country, the home of God's elect! O sweet and blessed country that eager hearts expect! Jesus, in mercy bring us to that dear land of rest; who are, with God the Father and Spirit, ever blest (fourth stanza)."

Fear of God

The fear of God is the soul of godliness. John Murray

And now....what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all HIs ways, to love Him, to serve the LORD your God will all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD....for your good? (Deuteronomy 10:12-13).

Fear God and give Him glory.... (Revelation 14:7)

Love, Sing, Wonder, Praise

Good morning!

To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood ...to Him be glory and power for ever and ever! (Revelation 1:5,6).

Let us love and sing and wonder, let us praise the Savior's name!
He has hushed the law's loud thunder, He has quenched Mount Sinai's flame;
He has washed us with His blood, He has brought us nigh to God.

Let us love the Lord who bought us, pitied us when enemies,
Called us by His grace, and taught us, gave us ears and gave us eyes;
He who washed us with His blood, He presents our souls to God.

Let us sing, though fierce temptation threaten hard to bear us down!
For the Lord, our strong salvation, holds in view the conqu'ror's crown;
He who washed us with His blood soon will bring us home to God.

Let us wonder; grace and justice join and point to mercy's store;
When through grace in Christ our trust is, justice smiles and asks no more:
He who washed us with His blood has secured our way to God.

Let us praise, and join the chorus of the saints enthroned on high;
here they trusted Him before us, now their praises fill the sky;
"You have washed us with your blood; You are worthy, Lamb of God!"

John Newton, 1774
