HAPPY & HOLY

Those that look to be happy must first look to be holy. --- William Gurnall

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous...whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected (I John 2:1,5).

A hymn to read, sing, hum, or whistle, to the glory of God: Gracious Spirit, Dwell With Me (Thomas T. Lynch, 1855).

WORLDLY

Nothing is more contrary to a heavenly hope than an earthly heart.--- William Gurnall.

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world -- the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions -- is not from the Father but from the world. And the world is passing  away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever (I John 2:15-17).

MILK

Godliness is the child of truth, and it must be nursed...with no other milk than that of its own mother. --- William Gurnall

Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up to salvation --- if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good (I Peter 2:2-3).

MEET

Wherever you meet a Christian, he is going to heaven.  William Gurnall

When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory (Colossians 3:4).

Truth

Godliness is the child of truth, and it must be nursed...with no other milk than that of its own mother. William Gurnall.

Pride in Gifts

Good morning!

Pride of gifts robs us of God's blessing in the use of them. ---- William Gurnall.

For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them...let love be genuine (Romans 12:3-6a, 9).

A hymn to read, sing, hum or whistle to the glory of God: RENEW THY CHURCH, HER MINISTRIES RESTORE.

Renew your church, our ministries restore:
both to serve and adore.
Make us again as salt throughout the land,
and as light from a stand.
'Mid somber shadows of the night,
where greed and hatreds spread their blight,
O send us forth with power endued,
help us, Lord, be renewed.
