EVANGELIZE

You cannot evangelize in a doctrinal vacuum (Anonymous).

For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how are they to call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?" So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ (Romans 10:13-17).

TIME

Time writes no wrinkle on the brow of the Eternal (Anonymous).

But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years is one day (II Peter 3:8).

HONESTY

Honesty is a matter of right and wrong, not a matter of policy. --- Anonymous
These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another, render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace; do not devise evil in your hearts against one another, and love no false oath, for all these things I hate, declares the LORD" (Zechariah 8:16).

VICTORY

We will be controlled by Satan, by self or by God. Control by Satan is slavery; control by self is futility; control by God is victory. ---- Anonymous.

LIFE

Life.  The world is only a passage-room to eternity, the world is to us as the wilderness was to Israel, not to rest in but to travel through. --- Anonymous.

He spread out a cloud as a covering, and a fire to give light at night. They asked, and He brought them quail and satisfied them with the bread of heaven. He opened the rock, and water gushed out, like a river it flowed in the desert. For He remembered HIs holy promise given to His servant Abraham. He brought out His people with rejoicing, His chosen ones with shouts of joy; He gave them the lands of the nations and they fell heir to what others had toiled for --- that they might keep His precepts and observe His laws. Praise the LORD. (Psalm 105:39-45).

For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end (Psalm 48:14).

GIVING

Seeking empties a life; giving fills it. ---- Anonymous
The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. As it is written, "He has distributed freely, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever." (II Corinthians 9:6-9).

FOCUS

You may not be the best judge of the distance you have travelled, but you ought to have a good idea of the direction in which you are travelling. ---- Anonymous

Not that I...am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me His own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:12, 13-14).

SOVEREIGNTY

God writes with a pen that never blots, speaks with a tongue that never skips, and acts with a hand that never fails.  Anonymous.

He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are justice; a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is He (Deuteronomy 32:4).

This God --  His way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true (Psalm 18:30).

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48).

According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith...  In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuiness of your faith -- more precious than gold...though it is tested by fire -- may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ(I Peter 1:4-7).

Evangelism

When telling thy salvation free, Let all absorbing thoughts of thee My heart and soul engross. And when all hearts are bowed and stirred Beneath the influence of thy Word Hide me behind thy cross. ---- Anonymous

For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not be quiet... (Isaiah 62:1).

A hymn to read, sing, hum, or whistle to the glory of God:
We Have Heard the Joyful Sound:

We have heard the joyful sound: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Spread the tidings all around: Jesus saves! Jesus! saves! Bear the news to ev-'ry land, climb the steeps and cross the waves; onward! 'tis our Lord's command; Jesus saves! Jesus saves! (Priscilla J. Owens, 1868)

Endurance

When you get in trouble for righteousness, God doesn't send somebody, He shows up Himself. ---- Anonymous

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when HIs glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you (I Peter 4:12-14).

A hymn to read, sing, hum, or whistle to the glory of God: GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD, JEHOVAH. Give thanks unto the Lord, Jehovah. In a large place the Lord has set me; in my distress He heard my cry. I will not fear; the Lord is with me ---- what can man do, when God is nigh? The Lord is chief among my helpers; and I shall see my foes o'er-thrown:  far better than in man or princes, my trust I place in God alone (second stanza). From Psalm 118:1-9, 17-25. Strasbourg Psalter, 1545.

Obedience

When Christ takes the burden of guilt off a sinner's shoulders He places the yoke of obedience upon his neck. ---- Anonymous

Justification supplies the only efficient motive to obedience. ---- Ernest F. Kevan

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 1:5).

....God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them.... (II Corinthians 5:19).

Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all Thy commandments. I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto Thy testimonies. Therefore I esteem all Thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way. (Psalms 119: 6, 59, 128).

And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statues, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them (Ezekiel 36:27).

A hymn to read, sing, hum, or whistle to the glory of God: Trust and Obey.
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, what a glory He sheds on our way....

Trust in God

Good morning!

God never promises us an easy time, only a safe arrival (Anon).

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him (James 1:12).

Meditation

Good morning!

By meditation I can converse with God, solace myself on the bosom of the Saviour, bathe myself in the rivers of divine pleasure, tread the paths of my rest, and view the mansions of eternity. ---- Anonymous.

Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful(Joshua 1:8).

A hymn to read, sing, whistle or hum to the glory of God: YOUR WORD IS LIKE A GARDEN LORD

Thy Word is like a garden, Lord, with flowers bright and fair;
And every one who seeks may pluck a lovely cluster there.
Thy Word is like a deep, deep mine; and jewels rich and rare
Are hidden in its mighty depths for every searcher there.

Grace

Good afternoon!

Grace is something more than 'unmerited favor' ... grace is favor shown where there is positive demerit in the one receiving it. Anonymous.

But whatever gain I had I counted as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that come from the law, but that which comes thourgh faith in Christ, the righeousness from God that depends on faith (Philippians 3:2-9).

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them(Ephesians 2:8-10).

Awe

Good morning!

Awe is the primary religious emotion. Anonymous.
Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with revereance and awe, for our God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:28-29).

Kindness

Good morning!

The milk of human kindness never curdles. -- Anonymous.

And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone... (II Timothy 2:24).

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you(Ephesians 4:32).

A hymn to be read or sung aloud and offered to God in worship: THE BEATITUDES (8 stanzas).
