Forgiveness

Good morning!
FORGIVENESS. Little, vicious minds abound with anger and revenge, and are incapable of feeling the pleasure of forgiving their enemies. ---- Philip Chesterfield.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay says the Lord." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:13,17,19, 21).

Judgment

Good morning!

Judgment. The punishment of the sinner is not an arbitrary vengeance, but the due process of moral providence ---- J. A. Motyer.

Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry, and you gave me no food. I was thirsty and you gave me no drink. I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me. Then they also will answer, saying, "Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?" Then He will answer them, saying, "Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me." And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life (Matthew 25: 41-46).

Forebearance

Good morning!

FORBEARANCE. Cultivate forbearance until your heart yields a fine crop of it. Pray for a short memory to all unkindnesses. ---- Charles H. Spurgeon.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends (I Corinthians 13:4-8a).-----

Depravity

Good afteroon!
MAN. DEPRAVITY  Man is not making his way up through animism, fetishism, totemism, polytheism and monotheism to a knowledge of God. He started with a knowledge of God and has been going the other way ever since. ---- Vance Havner
...God created man in His own image...formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of llife, and the man became a living being (Genesis 1:27a; 2:7).
When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked, so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves (Genesis 3:6, 7).
For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and there foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals (Romans 1:21

Jesus the Savior

Good morning!

The terrors of law and of God with me can have nothing to do; My Saviour's obedience and blood
Hide all my transgressions from view. ---- Augustus Toplady

Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. I acknowledged my sin to You, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD," and You forgave the iniquity of my sin (Psalm 32:1,2,5; cf. Romans 4:7-8).
For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more (Hebrews 8:12).
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9).

She will bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21).

Faith and Repentance

Good morning!

FAITH AND REPENTANCE
True faith is suffused with penitence. And just as faith is not only a momentary act but an abiding attitude of trust and confidence directed to the Savior, so repentance results in constant contrition. The broken spirit and the contrite heart are abiding marks of the believing soul. ---- John Murray

2012.10.10 "Love"

Good Morning!

The primary test of life is not service but love, both for man and for God. ---- William Still

"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And He said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God will all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets" (Matthew 22:36-40).

2012.10.8 "Stumbling Blocks"

Good Morning!

Stumbling blocks are often stepping stones to glory. Paul Settle

I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel, so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ. And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear (Philippians 1:12-14).

2012.10.7 "Christ Returning"

Good Morning!

Read Titus 2:11-14. "We wait for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ."

This is the basis of Christian living: grace teaches, trains and leads us step-by-step to godliness. Grace fills our lives, our thoughts, our dreams with one compelling truth: our Savior is coming! He saves us from the sting of death, judgment and hell. He loves us with an everlasting love. He will bring us at last to heaven.
Paul Settle
