STEWARDSHIP

There is no portion of our time that is not God's time; there us no portion of money that is our money, and the rest God's money. It is all His; He made it all, gives it all, and He has simply trusted it to us for His service. A servant has two purses, the master's and his own, but we have only one. ---- Adolphe Monod.

Everything is from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand (I Chronicles 29:14).

One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give that which is your own? No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money (Luke 1610-13).

SONGS

A SONG OF THANKSGIVING
Sing to the LORD, all the earth, proclaim His salvation day after day (I Chronicles 16:23).

Can a little child like me thank the Father fittingly? Yes, O yes! be good and true, patient, kind in all you do; love the Lord and do your part; learn to say with all your heart, Father we thank Thee! Father, we thank Thee! Father in heaven, we thank Thee!

For the fruit upon the tree, for the birds that sing of Thee, for the earth in beauty dressed, father, mother, and the rest, for Thy precious, loving care, for Thy bounty everywhere, Father, we thank Thee! Father, we thank Thee! Father in heaven, we thank Thee!

For our comrades and our plays, and our happy holidays, for the joyful work and true that a little child may do, for our lives but just begun, for the great gift of Thy Son, Father, we thank Thee! Father, we thank Thee! Father in heaven, we thank Thee! ---- Mary Mapes Dodge, 1831-1905.

SONGS

SONGS OF THANKSGIVING
Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day (I Chronicles 16:23

Let all things now living a song of thanksgiving to God the Creator triumphantly raise, who fashioned and made us, protected and stayed us, who guides us and leads to the end of our days. His banners are o'er us, His light goes before us, a pillar of fire shining forth in the night, 'til shadows have vanished and darkness is banished, as forward we travel from light into light.

His law He enforces: the stars in their courses, the sun in its orbit, obediently shine; the hills and the mountains, the rivers and fountains, the deeps of the ocean proclaim Him divine. We too should be voicing our love and rejoicing, with glad adoration a song let us raise, 'til all things now living unite in thanksgiving to God in the highest, hosanna and praise!  ---- Katherine K. Davis, 1939.

WORSHIP

Those cannot worship God aright who do not worship Him alone. ---- Matthew Henry

Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; bring an offering and come before Him! Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness... (I Chronicles 16:29).

IMMANENCE

What varous hindrances we meet
   In coming to the mercy seat;
Yet who, that knows the
   worth of prayer,
But wishes to be often there?
                        -- William Cowper

Seek the LORD and His strength,
   seek His presence continually!
Remember the wondrous works that
   He has done.
Save us, O God of our salvation,
and gather and deliver us from
among the nations,
that we may give thanks to Your holy name,
and glory in Your praise. (I Chronicles 16:11, 35)

PROVIDENCE

God's providence. A firm faith in the universal providence of God is the solution of all earthly problems. It is almost equally true that a clear and full apprehension of the universal providence of God is the solution of most theological problems. -- Benjamin B. Warfield
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is Yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and You are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all. In Your hand are power and might, and in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now we thank You, our God, and praise Your glorious name (I Chronicles 29:11-13).
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word (II Thessalonians 2:16).
A hymn to read, sing, hum, or whistle, to the glory of God: Children of the Heavenly Father, Carolina V. S. Berg, 1856.

No Little Things

Sometimes when I consider what tremendous consequences come from little things --- a chance word, a tap on the shoulder, or a penny dropped on a newstand --- I am tempted to think...there are no little things. Bruce Barton.

Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and You are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all. In Your hand are power and might, and in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now we Thank You, our God, and praise Your glorious name. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly. For all things come from You, and of Your own have we given You.  (I Chronicles 29:12-14).

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God (I Corinthians 10:13).

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him (Colossians 3:17).

...in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To Him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen (I Peter 4:1).

Our Sovereign God

God is in the facts of history as truly as He is in the march of the seasons, the revolutions of the planets, or the architecture of the worlds. ---- John Lanahan

Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in earth is Yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and You are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all. In Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now we thank You, our God, and praise Your glorious name (I Chronicles 29:11-13).

Omniscience

Good morning!

Have you ever realized that things occur to us, but nothing ever occurs to God? --- Selected

From where, then, does wisdom come? And where is the place of understanding? God understands the way to it, and He knows its place. For He looks to the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens. For His eyes are on the ways of a man, and He sees all his steps  (Job 28:20, 23-24; 34:21).

He determines the number of the stars; He gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; His understanding is beyond measure (Psalm 147:4-5).

For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose...' (Isaiah 46:10).

The LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts (I Chronicles 28:9).

Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world (Acts 15:8).

And no creature is hidden from His sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must given account (Hebrews 4:13).
